Dogs are Family Here
Sam & Co Kennels was founded by Sara and Mike Napier in 2020 following Sara’s time as a K-9 Police Officer and Trainer. The name is homage to Sam, one of her canine law enforcement partners. The two and Sara’s other K-9 partner Tyson have since left the force after Sara faced a career ending injury, but dogs were not going to leave the Napier family plans. On top of having a house full of her own, Sara and her family love on every boarder as their own.
She thanks her husband for the work he put into help transform the kennel into everything she could have hoped for. Her kids enjoy spending time with their own dogs, but love playing with the boarding dogs and making sure they get plenty of love. It truly is a family business around here.
Sara has continued to offer K-9 Training upon discussion of needs, expectations, and when scheduling allows. She is a certified K-9 Trainer and Evaluator for the State of Ohio. “Although I do not like the term ‘master trainer’ I do consider myself an expert in both dog behavior and dog training.” Every year she attends seminars to maintain and grow her skills and a K-9 and Civilian Trainer.
Since opening the kennel, she has started to offer hand crafted leather leashes alongside boarding. Her leashes are designed to offer safe control while of course, still being pretty.
